In the heart of the neighborhood Campo di Marte in Florence, on a busy street crowded by shops, on the corner of Via G. Marconi with its candles, wooden heart decorations hanging from the window, and vintage photos is a quiet and romantic refuge from the caos of the neighborhood.

A soft and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff makes me feel at ease while Andrea (one of the owners) with a smile offers his help in the selection of wines and distillates of his Winebar, Mago Balducci (Magician Balducci).

Everything is simply elegant, timeless, and vintage inspired.

“My husband and I love the shabby style and Provence, so we used that style as inspirations for choosing our furniture and colors…

The owner Barbara “The restaurant was founded in the early 70s called Balducci; it was a winery opened owned by my father’s husband in the historic center of Florence and was a gathering of Florence painters, artists and creative types. You took a very pretty picture of the photograph of the old room with my father in law. After his death, their children had left the historical center to open in via Marconi 11 years ago. In 2011, I joined in the company. I painted it all in white, and the place has been renamed Mago Balducci because my last name is Mago-nio.
Our special plates are The Balducci Salad, Burrata Balducci and the timeless chocolate cake cooked by my mother-in-law. As for the drinks we rely on distillates sought and we stick to the classics, but prepared by a staff of top-level professionals who can advise you.”
